Testimonials Lymph-o-med Vest

My Lymph-o-med compression vest, I’m glad to have it. After my mastectomy my chest was bandaged. It was uncomfortable and I developed swelling on my chest and under my arm. It was painful and it kept me awake during the night. My Lymphedema therapist advised me to wear the Lymph-o-med compression vest because I still had to go through a second surgery and radiation.
From the beginning the vest felt so comfortable against the bandages. The swelling went down, I slept again with no pain and it even holds my prosthesis in place better than the bras I had. After the surgery and all the radiations I always put my vest on and it kept the swelling down, what a different it made.

Dear Dr. Kropp,
I would like to express my thanks and appreciation for your help in treating my lymphedema.  I think the Lymph-o-med compression vest really helped the swelling in my back and side to subside.  I only wish that I could have had such a vest after my surgeries for breast cancer.  It would have been far more effective and comfortable than the bandages in which I was wrapped.  All women who undergo surgery should have a vest right away.  I think it would help so many women.

Hi Lymph-o-med,
I like the mastectomy vest and I prefer the vest over the bandages as it gave me more
control and independence. With the bandages you need someone do it for you, while with the vest you can do it yourself. It is also more comfortable. Thanks,
        Cathy Cotter (survivor) New Glasgow

The Lymph-o-med compression vest was what I needed for many of my patients which developed swelling and edema mostly after mastectomy. The quality is excellent and the price equivalent with the bandages. Every patient with breast cancer should wear a vest after surgery, it should become a standard. We already see a different on one hospital where we use the vest since October 2004. Beside the healing advance the vest offers also a much greater comfort to my patients.

Using the Lymph-o-med mastectomy vest, made a big different for our breast cancer patients. We like the vest because it is easy to fit and applies the correct amount of compression to control swelling. Our patients are very pleased because the vest is more comfortable and at home they are more independent and are able to control their progress.                                                                                                                                                                                          Melissa MacConnell, RN, Surgery Unit Manager

The breast surgery Lymph-o-med compression vest has been well received by surgeons, nurses and patients  at the Aberdeen Hospital,  the vests are comfortable to wear, they are not hot, irritating nor do they tend to ride up on the waist.  Nurses like the fact that they are latex free and they provide even compression. Patients seem to comply with wearing instructions therefore outcomes such as reduced lymphedema and infections has been noted but not officially researched. We are very pleased with the product.

The Lymph-o-med compression vest was so comfortable I hardly knew I had it on. I wore it right up till I went to get permanent prosthesis. I had no complications and very little post op swelling.

The Lymph-o-med mastectomy vest that we have been using has been of immense help.  Between the ones that we inititally used and the present system there was a period of time when we did not use mastectomy jackets.  These patients were dressed with any combination of bandages and pressure dressings over their mastectomy sites.  During this period of time we experienced an increased level of patients complaining and presenting with edema.
Since we have gone back to the Lymph-o-med vest I have not had one patient with lymphedema so far.
I would like to say that it is probably the compression vest that is partly responsible for the lack of complication of
lymphedema.  It seems to be very well tolerated by the women, and they are very comfortable with it; and it does add pressure support to the affected mastectomy site.  Hoping this will help in the decision to use this vest.
